4.3 Servo drive and servo motor drive

In order to enable the injection molding machine drive not only does not affect the production capacity or even increase the production capacity, the industry has begun to use servo drives and servo motors to drive, the system usually consists of built-in PQC servo drive + servo motor + metering pump, as shown in Figure 5. Shown as follows:

The biggest advantage of the servo drive is that it is energy-saving first. When the system maintains pressure, the injection molding machine controller will give the pressure and flow signals to the drive at the same time. The driver will save the low-speed drive servo motor according to the PID conversion, and the energy consumption is very good. The improvement is because the servo drive drives the servo motor to operate very quickly, and the servo motor can generally run to 2000 rpm or more, so the injection molding machine basically performs the speed mode motor when performing other working states except the pressure holding state. The speed of the injection molding machine can be increased quickly, and the production capacity is increased. The stability of the pressure is good when the system is under pressure. Because the drive system is an infinite loop control system, the pressure of the injection molding machine system is transmitted to the drive through the pressure sensor. The response is quickly adjusted by the PID of the drive, thus ensuring the stability of the system pressure.

In short, the advantages of this program: energy saving, fast, space saving, no need to buy out PQ controller, low oil temperature, small fuel tank; Disadvantages: more parts are replaced when the old machine is modified.

5 Delta's dedicated servo drive solution

At present, many drive companies at home and abroad have introduced servo drives for injection molding machines. Delta has also launched its own servo drive for VJ injection molding machines. The system diagram is shown in Figure 6:

This program has the following characteristics:

(1) Super power saving: 60% power saving under traditional conditions than conventional metering pump hydraulic system

(2) System oil temperature is low: oil temperature can be 5-10 degrees lower than traditional

(3) High repeatability: precise flow pressure control

(4) Long pressure keeping time: better for sitting on large-sized plastic products

(5) Fast response time: speed response time is 40ms

(6) Resistant to harsh environment: use anti-oil, anti-shake, dustproof rotary encoder

Generally speaking, this scheme can better implement the energy-saving transformation of the injection molding machine, improve the system operation efficiency, and is safe and reliable, and is suitable for use in various industrial environments.

5 Conclusion

With the maturity of the servo drive technology in the industry, the dedicated servo drive has been widely used in the transformation of injection molding machines. Practice has proved that the servo drive scheme based on the special servo drive of Delta VJ injection molding machine has obvious energy saving effect, high precision and strong adaptability, which is worthy of promotion and application.
