The first domestic terahertz imaging chip released: no radiation can replace imports

A rice-sized terahertz chip can play a huge role in the human body security instrument. The reporter learned from the China Electronics Technology Group on the 23rd that the first domestic terahertz imaging chip developed by China Electronics 13 was officially released at the first Digital China Construction Summit.
Since the terahertz wave signal radiated by the human body is extremely weak, the terahertz chip is required to have ultra-high sensitivity, ultra-low noise and ultra-wideband characteristics, so that the weak signal of the human body radiation can be detected, thereby achieving the purpose of imaging.
Wang Qiang, deputy director of the 13th China Electronics Division, told the reporter that this chip can detect the weak terahertz waves radiated by the human body, and analyze the detected signals through the internal algorithm of the instrument to image the human body and help the security check. Personnel quickly check the dangerous goods carried by the human body, and at the same time do not cause radiation harm to the tested personnel, providing an effective solution to the security problem.
In the past, the core imaging chip technology in the security instrument has been controlled abroad. Wang Qiang introduced that this terahertz chip has achieved independent research and development and independent control in all key aspects such as material growth, process manufacturing, simulation modeling and circuit design. The terahertz detector module developed by these chips has advantages in terms of price and performance compared with similar foreign products. It can replace imported ones, which will significantly improve the level of human terahertz human security equipment and promote the digitalization of safe cities.
