Titanium alloy thin-walled parts extrusion technology

(1) Process flow

For the characteristics of titanium alloy parts: open die forging blank → closed extrusion → pre-forging → final forging process extrusion process, to avoid the closed forging oxide layer is too thick, excessive stress, uneven organization, The resulting burr is too large and other defects.

(2) Vacuum heat treatment

During the extrusion process, multiple vacuum heat treatments are used to improve the microstructure of the titanium alloy, so that the titanium is immersed in the titanium alloy by elements such as O, N, H, and C in the air to form a gap-type solid solution, which causes the surface lattice to be seriously distorted. The plasticity is reduced, and it acts on N and C to form hard layers such as TiN and TiC with high hardness, which are easy to crack during extrusion.

(3) Control the rate of extrusion deformation

The deformation temperature, deformation speed and deformation amount of the spinning parts are controlled, and the heating is supplemented during the extrusion process to maintain the heat, and the difficulty in controlling the plasticity of the titanium alloy material parts and the work hardening extrusion is controlled.

(4) Selection of extrusion equipment

1 The extruder should have sufficient rigidity.

2 The press must have a large working stroke and energy.

3 sliders should have good guiding accuracy.

4 There must be a super insurance device.
