The color change of the film layer is related to various reasons. The main ones are pH value, sealing solution temperature, sealing solution concentration, anodizing solution temperature, anodizing time, and SO42- content in the sealing solution. SO42- has a great influence on the color of the outer surface of the film. When the content exceeds 0.5g/L, the color of the film will appear lighter and whiter. Thereby affecting the appearance of the film layer.
In order to reduce the content of SO42- in the sealing solution, it may be removed by using a cesium carbonate precipitation method.
In order to avoid the incorporation of SO42-, we must pay attention to the following two points:
(1) The parts taken from the anodizing solution should be thoroughly rinsed, especially the sulfuric acid anodizing solution remaining in the blind holes and deep recesses.
(2) An appropriate amount of cesium carbonate is added in advance to prepare the solution to remove SO42- present in the chromate.
