Vacuum plating of color PVD film layer can help the surface corrosion resistance of color stainless steel substrate, but it can not completely prevent the substrate from being eroded. Therefore, the good corrosion resistance of the substrate itself is the key to maintaining the PVD film layer for a long time. In the zinc alloy, iron alloy, copper alloy, aluminum alloy and other metals that are not easily corroded and easily oxidized, the PVD film layer cannot be directly plated. Because the above metal substrate is easily corroded, or the surface is not dense, many small pores are difficult, and surface impurities are difficult to clean. It is clean and directly coated with a color PVD film on the surface by vacuum plating. It can not prevent the substrate from continuing to corrode for a long time. If it is not subjected to special treatment such as sealing oil, the film layer will easily fall off. Therefore, before the above metals are to be PVD, it is generally recommended to perform electroless plating of chromium and nickel to make the surface more corrosion-resistant to achieve the desired effect. In addition, substances such as sponges, plastics, and resins have a large number of pores. Since it is difficult to remove impurities in a vacuum, the surface is difficult to clean, so it is not possible to directly treat them by PVD at this stage. Ceramics and glass have been specially treated, and the surface can now be treated with PVD. Stainless steel materials are the best choice for plating color PVD coatings on stainless steel surfaces due to their excellent corrosion resistance.
All colored stainless steel products must be cleaned before plating:
a. Stainless steel sheet is relatively easy to clean due to the uniform surface thickness, as long as the protective film and surface glue and impurities are removed; in addition, some sheets are too long to be placed, and the protective film is deteriorated, which makes it difficult to remove the subsequent surface glue and affect the surface cleaning.
b. Cleaning and cleaning of stainless steel component parts is more complicated. In addition to obvious surface cleaning, some polishing, waxing, folding, cornering and other inconspicuous gaps also need polishing wax, glue, rust, dust, welding. Impurities such as slag are removed with a cleaning agent, otherwise it is easy to cause discoloration. For the stainless steel components to be plated, the biggest cleaning problem comes from some hard-to-remove substances such as polishing wax, salt, rosin, sand, wood, glue, plastic, etc. hidden in stainless steel pipes and invisible places. These substances will seriously affect the quality of vacuum coating, resulting in abnormal color or discoloration. Therefore, stainless steel component manufacturers should avoid hiding the above materials in the components during the manufacturing process and cannot remove them, so as not to affect the quality of subsequent vacuum plating color stainless steel coating.
Stainless steel products coated with colored PVD film should pay attention to the following items:
a. Although the vacuum-plated PVD film has a certain degree of corrosion resistance, it is difficult to resist the contact with strong corrosive substances such as acid and alkali. Therefore, during normal maintenance, try not to use a strong acid or alkali or decontamination cleaning agent, such as toilet essence, paint remover, metal cleaner, etc., you can use industrial alcohol with a soft cotton cloth gently wipe, if the surface has Dirt should also be treated with a weak acid weak base solvent. In addition, if exposed to harsh environments for a long time, or prolonged contact with corrosive liquids, PVD film layer is also prone to falling off problems, such as swimming pools (fluorine), sea water (more salt), high temperature and high humidity (steam) In the environment.
b. Use of anti-fingerprint varnish. More and more customers choose to apply a transparent anti-fingerprint oil on the stainless steel products coated with colored PVD film. The effect is very obvious. The hand touch is free of fingerprints, easy to clean, and can also increase wear resistance and resistance. The function of corrosion is multiplied. However, the disadvantage is that the color of the injected and unsprayed oils is inconsistent, and the processing requirements are high, the cost is not low, the metal texture of the product is affected, and there are problems such as aging. Therefore, we must carefully consider before use.
c. Subsequent processing issues. Since the PVD film layer has a very good bonding force with the substrate, it is not easy to fall off, and the product can be subjected to subsequent simple mechanical processing such as cutting, folding, bending, and cutting. However, the influence of welding on the PVD film layer is very large. The instantaneous high temperature will cause the film layer to fall off and discolor. Therefore, the stainless steel products to be welded should be plated. It is best to paint the components first and then color them. The material of the film is processed to make a product.
