Kunming University of Science and Technology Successfully Developed Microwave Technology

According to the report of Science and Technology Daily, Kunming University of Science and Technology in Kunming has independently developed a series of new microwave metallurgy reactors, and has established microwave microwave high-temperature production lines with large-scale, continuous and automatic microwave metallurgy for the first time at home and abroad.

Microwave metallurgy, also known as green metallurgy, is to replace some of the high-energy-consuming, high-pollution metallurgical processes, and is also one of the effective ways to promote energy-saving, emission reduction, and consumption reduction of metallurgical processes. However, due to the severe lag in microwave reaction mechanism research, it is difficult to expand the application of microwaves in metallurgy and the industrialization process is slow. In order to solve this problem, the team led by Professor Peng Jinhui of Kunming University of Science and Technology, focusing on the new applications of microwaves in metallurgy, has systematically conducted the principle research of technologies such as drying, calcination, leaching, reduction, and metallurgical material preparation, after 22 years. Successfully developed a series of new microwave metallurgy reactors.

At present, this technology has been successfully promoted to industries such as metallurgy, energy, chemical industry, etc., and has created significant economic and social benefits.
