Murata has released "UMAL201421A012TA01", a thin laminated secondary battery for sensor nodes and wearable devices in wireless sensor networks. Mass production will begin in July 2016.
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has started mass production of cylindrical secondary batteries with faster charge and discharge performance and longer life than previous secondary batteries since October 2015. The new products are laminated products of this series.
The new product can continuously discharge at a high rate of 10C (120mA), and the charge capacity recovery rate can reach 90% or more at 5000 cycles, achieving a longer life. The 12mA capacity is ensured in a size of 21.0mm x 14.0mm x 2.0mm, and the internal resistance is controlled at 200mΩ. It can also be charged at a fixed voltage, and no current control is required for charging. The nominal voltage is 2.3V, the charging voltage is 2.7V, and the operating temperature range is -20°C to 70°C. (Reporter: Mori Mori)
