Clivia cultivation techniques

Clivia cultivation techniques:

(1) Potting soil

Use pot sand and peat or sand and humus soil when planting. For adult seedlings, change the pot every 2~3 years. The size of the pot is determined by the seedlings. When changing pots, change the soil, and at the same time with cake fertilizer, manure, etc., to promote the rapid growth of Clivia.

(2) Watering

Gentleman is warm and humid, its fleshy roots are developed, and it has certain drought tolerance. However, it is afraid of waterlogging. When watering, it is necessary to master the principle of inter-drying. It is best to keep the relative humidity of the soil at 80%~90%. , no less than 60%. Wash the leaves with tea leaves every week to make the leaves fresh and bright. In short, the four seasons of Clivia as long as the spring to avoid blowing, summer sunscreen, autumn rain, winter is not dry to keep the plant growing vigorously, flowers and leaves.

(3) Fertilization

After 1 month, the gentleman's orchid can be fertilized, and 10~15 angels will be fertilized once a day. In the first half of the first two peaks of spring growth, it is advisable to apply dried bean cake or chicken manure on the pot, but not too close to the roots to avoid root damage. When the buds begin to bloom in the autumn, the application of phosphate fertilizer should be added to make the flowers more colorful and prevent the occurrence of pinching. When fertilizing, do not pour onto the leaves and inside the sheath. If the fertilizer is insufficient, the leaves are dull, the flowers are small and small, and there will be a phenomenon of flowering every other year. Regular topdressing is generally carried out in spring and autumn, with less in summer and winter.

(4) Light

The leaves of Clivia are broad, and it is resistant to negative, hi-slow environment, and the leaves of plants grown under 50% light transmittance can greatly enhance the ornamental effect. The light will also affect the arrangement direction of the leaves of Clivia, and if one side, the original leaves arranged in a line will be confused, resulting in a decrease in the ornamental effect. Therefore, attention should be paid to evenly receiving the light and periodically turning the direction of the pot.

(5) Temperature

The suitable temperature for Clivia is 15~20°C. Above 25 °C, the plant growth is poor, often the leaves are long, affecting flower bud differentiation, at this time should pay attention to ventilation and cooling; below 10 °C, the growth is slow; when it falls below 0 °C, it will cause the plants to freeze. In the summer, it is necessary to pay attention to cooling, which can promote flower bud differentiation. The temperature difference between day and night is large, which is conducive to the growth of Clivia, generally 6~10 °C.
