Mosaics can be divided into several different categories according to materials and processes. Ceramic material
It is the most traditional kind of mosaic, famous for its small size, but it is more monotonous and has a lower grade.
Metal Material
Metal mosaics are mainly divided into three categories: stainless steel, aluminum-plastic board and aluminum alloy.
1. Stainless steel mosaic (stainless steel sheet + bottom ceramic particles + back mesh)
Advantages: low cost of stainless steel plate, low price in product price; wear-resistant, ground decoration;
Disadvantages: single color, mostly gold and silver, the surface process is only brushed, mirror surface; the surface is still easy to oxidize and the color is dim, the inferior has rust spots. The stainless steel skin, ceramic granules and back mesh are pasted, the granules are easily peeled off, and the installation requires mud filling.
2. Aluminum composite panel mosaic (aluminum plastic particles + sponge adhesive)
Advantages: The aluminum-plastic panel is rich in color, and the surface technology has various kinds of drawing, flashing, drawing, mirror, stone, wood grain, etc.; the surface of the particle is protected by resin layer, the color gloss is consistent; the particle and sponge adhesive are directly pasted, the lightest The project is simple, directly pasted, without the need to grout.
Disadvantages: the surface is a resin protective layer, can not be used as a floor tile; the price is high-end.
3. Aluminum alloy mosaic (aluminum alloy particles + back mesh)
Advantages: All aluminum particles, guaranteed strength, secondary processing, laser, phantom, spinning and other effects; wear-resistant, ground decoration;
Disadvantages: single color, no picture or other material effects, surface technology limited to drawing or mirror surface; heavier, installation requires brushing and caulking. The price is upscale.
Marble material
It is a mosaic of medium-term development, rich and colorful, but its acid and alkali resistance is poor, waterproof performance is not good, so the market is not very good.
Glass material
The colorfulness of the glass brings a vibrant life to the mosaic. It is divided into a variety of small varieties depending on the type of glass:
1) Molten glass mosaic. A glass mosaic which is formed by silicate or the like as a main raw material and melt-formed at a high temperature and which is opaque or semi-opaque, containing a small amount of bubbles and unmelted particles.
2) Sintered glass mosaic. Glass frit is used as the main raw material, and a suitable amount of binder is added to make a green body of a certain size; a glass mosaic sintered at a certain temperature.
3) Venus glass mosaic. It contains a small amount of bubbles and a certain amount of metal crystal particles, and has a glass mosaic with obvious light and flicker.
Shell material
Made of natural shell materials in rivers or seas, it is non-toxic, non-radiative, environmentally friendly, etc.
Type difference
Ceramic mosaic is a kind of mosaic produced by ceramic production process. The raw material is powdery small particles after spray granulation. After being formed by pressing machine, it is fired once in the kiln (some part is glazed and then kiln is burned). The surface is illuminated by direct packaging or polishing as required. Ceramic mosaics have only recently emerged. They can make different surface gloss effects, different colors, and have the advantages of high strength, toughness and thermal shock resistance of ceramic products (contrast glass mosaic). Glass mosaic has a long history. It is produced by the glass production process. The raw materials are first melted into a liquid state in a glass melting furnace, and then cooled and molded to form products of different colors and bright colors. The characteristics are very bright (compared with ceramic mosaic). However, the glass has the characteristics of brittleness and poor thermal shock. The price is not good, because there are many different specifications, there is no comparable.
