The China Geological Survey and the Deep Earth Exploration Center of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences were established on the 29th. The center will focus on developing deep detection technology, innovating earth science theory; conducting deep geological surveys, expanding energy, resources and land and resources utilization space; building a deep exploration platform to cultivate talents and promote international exchanges.
According to reports, the center's five major tasks include: deep sea and land geological survey and deep process theory innovation; deep mineral resources, energy-rich areas "transparent" detection; implementation of scientific drilling, underground science experiments; deep process and geodynamics simulation ; Build a platform for China's "entry into the land" plan.
The center consists of five laboratories: the Exploration and Energy Research Laboratory, the Metal Mineral Resources Exploration Laboratory, the Scientific Deep Drilling and Underground Experimental Laboratory, the Deep Geology and Crustal Evolution Research Laboratory, the Detection Data Center and the Comprehensive Research Laboratory.
