According to Guangzhou Customs statistics, in the first ten months of 2010, the total value of Guangdong shoe exports was 10.15 billion US dollars, a total of 3.44 billion pairs of shoes, an increase of 24.4% and 20.5% over the same period last year. However, in the past three months, the export of Guangdong shoes has shown a trend of shrinking, and the export volume has decreased continuously. The export volume in October was 290 million pairs, up 1.8%, a decrease of 3.1%; the value was 960 million US dollars, an increase of 30%. , a decrease of 11.3% from the previous quarter.

Currently, Western countries such as the European Union continue to impose anti-dumping duties on footwear products from China, and other developing countries such as Brazil, Turkey, and Argentina have also imposed anti-dumping or safeguard tax measures on my footwear products. This has become a major challenge for the export of footwear in China. At the same time, the substantial increase in the cost of footwear is also a major challenge for shoe companies in China. First, the prices of raw materials for footwear production continue to climb, with cotton (25225, -1225.00, -4.63%) prices continuing to hit new highs. Second, the cost of labor for enterprises is also increasing. The average monthly wage of employees in Guangdong in the first half of this year was 3,090 yuan, an increase of 10.1%.

As the export of footwear products is mainly settled in U.S. dollars, the appreciation of the RMB against the U.S. dollar will increase, and will directly reduce export profits, which will have a greater impact on footwear exports.
