Wire glass use classification

(1) According to the building law, wire glass is used to prevent fire.

First, when the wire glass is cut, the cut portion is easily broken. The strength of the slit portion is about half that of ordinary glass, so that it is more likely to cause thermal cracking than ordinary glass.

Second, the wire mesh surface of the wire glass is specially treated and generally not easy to rust. The cuttable portion is in an untreated state, so it sometimes rusts when exposed to water. If it is severe, due to the volume expansion, the cut portion may be cracked, reducing the strength of the edge. This is the cause of the thermal break.
