In order to prevent the occurrence of power cable fire accidents, the following precautions should be taken:
(1) Select a cable that meets the requirements for thermal stability. The selected cable can meet the heat requirement of long-term rated load under normal conditions. In the case of short circuit, it can meet short-term heat stability and avoid overheating of the cable.
(2) Prevent running overload. When the cable is under load, it generally does not exceed the rated load. If it is overloaded, the overload running time of the cable should be strictly controlled to avoid overloading the cable and causing the cable to catch fire.
(3) Obey the relevant regulations for cable laying. When laying cables, keep them away from heat sources and avoid parallel or cross arrangement with steam pipes. If they are parallel or crossed, keep the specified distance and take insulation measures to prevent the cables from being laid in parallel on the upper or lower side of the heat pipes. In the tunnel or trench, it is generally avoided to lay cables. If it is to be laid, insulation measures should be taken; cables laid overhead, especially plastic and rubber cables, should have thermal insulation measures to prevent heat pipes and other heat effects; The distance between cables, between cables and heat pipes and other pipes, between cables and roads, railways, buildings, etc. shall be parallel or intersected to meet the requirements of the regulations; in addition, the cable shall have a wave allowance to prevent winter The cable stops running and shrinks to cause excessive tension and damage the cable insulation. The cable turns should ensure the minimum radius of curvature to prevent excessive bending and damage the cable insulation; the cable tunnel should avoid joints, because the cable joint is the weakest place in the cable, the cable short circuit fault is easy to occur when the tunnel must be in the tunnel When installing the intermediate joint, use a refractory baffle to separate it from the other cables. The above-mentioned cable laying regulations are effective for preventing overheating of cables and ignition damage.
(4) Regular inspections. The power cable should be inspected regularly, and the air temperature and cable temperature in the cable trench should be measured regularly. In particular, the temperature of the large-capacity power cable and cable connector box should be recorded. Identify and handle defects in a timely manner through inspection.
(5) Seal the cable holes, holes and fire doors and partition walls tightly. In order to prevent cable fires, all cable holes that enter the control room, cable mezzanine, control cabinet, instrument cabinet, switch cabinet, etc. must be tightly sealed (closed, tight, beautiful, and cable-carrying) through walls, floors, shafts, and cable trenches. Do not suffer damage). Fireproof partitions and fire doors shall be provided for the longer cable tunnels and their forks. Under normal conditions, the door on the cable trench or hole should be closed so that once the cable is ignited, it can isolate or limit the range of combustion and prevent the fire from spreading.
(6) Strip the outer jute outer sheath of the non-buried cable. The directly buried cable has a jute protective layer such as immersed asphalt, which has a protective effect on the cable in the buried burial. When the direct buried cable enters the cable trench, tunnel or shaft, the jute protective layer such as the outer lining asphalt should be Stripped to reduce the risk of fire expansion. At the same time, the cover on the cable trench should be covered, and the cover is complete and sturdy, and the welding slag is not easy to fall in, which reduces the possibility of cable fire.
(7) Keep the cable tunnel clean and properly ventilated. Cable tunnels or channels should be kept clean, no garbage and debris should be piled up, and accumulated water and oil in tunnels and trenches should be removed in time; in normal operation, cable tunnels and channels should be properly ventilated.
(8) Keep the cable tunnel or channel well lit. The lighting in the cable layer, cable tunnel or channel is often kept in good condition, and dedicated ladders are provided for the tunnels and channel openings that need to be up and down to facilitate inspections and cable fires.
(9) Prevent the fire from entering the cable trench. When performing open flame operations near the cable, measures should be taken to prevent the fire from entering the trench.
(10) Regular inspections and tests. According to the regulations and the actual operation of the cable, the cable should be regularly inspected and tested to deal with defects and discover latent faults in time to ensure safe operation of the cable and to avoid cable fires. When entering the cable tunnel or channel for maintenance, the test shall be in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Electric Safety Work Regulations".
