High energy capacity three-phase combined overvoltage protector installation and maintenance

The high-energy-capacity three-phase combined overvoltage protector (hereinafter referred to as the protector) is mainly used to limit the atmospheric overvoltage and the operation overvoltage caused by various vacuum switches. While protecting the over-voltage between phases, it also provides protection against phase-to-phase over-voltage. A protector can replace the function of six conventional surge arresters.

Installation and preventive maintenance

protector if required to distinguish between labeled A, B, C phase and ground installations, indicated in strict accordance with the installation are connected.

It is forbidden to carry the cable when installing and moving the protector. At the same time, it is necessary to prevent the sharps from cutting and cutting the high voltage cable.

The cables should be installed parallel to the busbars of the system to avoid crossover and cross-phase busbars and meet the insulation distance requirements.

The user shall perform preventive tests and maintenance on the protector every 1 to 2 years. The parameter change shall be normal within ±10%.

A gap type protector is strictly prohibited to do DC 1mA voltage test, no gap type protector is strictly prohibited from doing frequency discharge test!

The gap type protector detection test is as follows:

1. Power frequency discharge test: The high voltage test is connected to a primary 10A ammeter in series, and the power frequency voltage is applied from zero at a constant speed between each two terminals of the protector (the other ends are suspended). Observe the ammeter and record the two wires when the current meter mutates. The voltage value between the terminals, and must cut off the power frequency power within 0.2S. The interval between each test shall not be less than 10S, and the average value shall be measured 3 times. The value shall be normal within ±10% of the factory test value.

2. Electrical conduction current test: Apply DC voltage between each two terminals of the protector (the rest of the terminals are suspended), the value is the nominal voltage of the system, and the current through the protector should not exceed 20μA.

The gapless protector detection test is as follows:

1. DC 1mA reference voltage test: Apply a DC voltage between the two terminals of the protector (the rest of the terminals are dangling) with a high-voltage DC generator. When the current flowing through the protector is stable at 1mA, record the voltage value applied between the two terminals. (only need to test once), the value should be within ±10% of the factory test value;

2. Leakage current test: Apply 0.75 times DC 1mA reference voltage between each two terminals of the protector (the rest of the terminals are suspended), and the current through the protector should not exceed 50μA.
