Recently, the author learned from the Economic Crops Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences that the researchers of the institute have successfully cultivated and promoted a new rapeseed variety "Xinyou 22", whose oil production rate is 47% to 48%, which is higher than that of Xinjiang The current main plant variety "Xinyou 17" has a 15% increase in yield. This year, the planting area of ​​this variety is 2000 mu in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. The new spring rapeseed variety with high yield is stable, with a growth period of 110 days, and the yield per mu can reach 220 kg to 230 kg.
High-yield, high-quality, high oil content, and strong resistance have always been the varieties needed by Xinjiang rape farmers. At present, there are more than 10 varieties of rapeseed in Xinjiang, but there are problems such as mixed varieties, low oil content of main varieties and poor quality. Therefore, it is urgent to develop new hybrid rape varieties with high yield, high oil content and excellent comprehensive traits.
To solve this problem, in January 2013, Chen Yuehua, a researcher at the Institute of Economic Crops, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, led his team members to declare and implement the autonomous region high-tech research and development plan project "Xinjiang Cabbage Spring Rape Molecular Marker-assisted Hybrid Breeding Technology application".
The research team first planted and observed the rape germplasm material accumulated in the past for a long time, and the rape parents imported from home and abroad, and used molecular marker technology for laboratory analysis and research of excellent genes to screen out hundreds of comprehensive traits. Good rape breeding materials, cross-breeding with each other, further breeding rape varieties with better traits to improve their heterosis. Researchers conducted field trials at the Anning Canal Test Field of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Tacheng and Baicheng County Oil Test Stations and the Zhaosu County Seed Station, and finally successfully bred "Xinyou No. 22" and passed the autonomous region's crop varieties Validation.
