If the test conditions of a three-phase asynchronous motor are insufficient, a 60 Hz motor needs to be tested. How to use a 50 Hz power supply test? The editor of Dalan Motor shares some empirical calculation methods with everyone today.

Test voltage:

When testing a 60 Hz motor with a 50 Hz power supply, the added rated voltage should be reduced to 50 ÷ 60 × U60, where U60 is the rated voltage of the motor at 60 Hz. For example: the rated voltage of the tested motor at 60Hz is 380V. When the test is performed with 50Hz power supply, the added rated voltage should be reduced to 317V (50 ÷ 60 × 380 = 317)

Test data conversion principle:

For the convenience of description, add the subscript "50" to the test data code of 50 Hz, for example, the voltage is U50; the data converted to 60 Hz (the subscript is 60) is taken according to the following principles:

(1) The stator current takes the same value

(2) Input power P60 = (U60 / U50) × P50

(3) Slip ratio s = s50 × [Pcu2 / / P1-Pcu1-PFe)]

Among them, Pcu1 and Pcu2 at the two frequencies are the same; PFe at 60Hz is 1.315 times the corresponding value of 50Hz, because it involves many theoretical derivations, so I wo n’t go into details here.

(4) The mechanical loss at 60 Hz is 1.2 times the loss at 50 Hz

(5) The stray loss takes the same value

(6) The efficiency and power factor are calculated according to the above numerical calculation

(7) The temperature rise is corrected according to the test value and the full load current finally obtained

(8) The locked-rotor current takes the same value

(9) The stall torque at 60 Hz is 0.833 times the corresponding value at 50 Hz

(10) The maximum torque takes the same value

(11) No-load current

(12) The no-load loss at 60 Hz is roughly 1.1 times the corresponding value at 50 Hz.

(13) The efficiency and power factor are obtained from the above conversion values.

(14) For the open circuit voltage of the wound rotor motor, apply the pressure according to the rated voltage of 60 Hz, and directly measure it.

The above is an empirical formula based on a large number of different specifications of the motor test situation, which can only be used as a data reference when the test conditions are not available.
